CD - Bach - Brandenburgische Konzerte (2010)

Number 1, it's very peppy, good volume.  It's music like I can't tell.  Played off, at least good, strong technique, worth doing it.  They have control over their sound.  It's very exciting if you notice.

Number 3, a very emotional lilt, and I know it touched them and they can play.  It's very accurate but detailed in a special way.  There are lots of even notes in a row, "holding their own."  It's bouncy, perky.  It has very sudden dynamic changes in some parts.  Solos, okay but a little nervous.  The cellos's solo is great with a cute bass; they blend in so well.  There are sudden surprises with dynamics held out.

CD - Erik Satie (2016)

"un siecle da musique franciase"

I know I am listening to Gymnopedie 1.  It is overly delicate with sudden stressed parts, on piano.  Some of it sounds very good and rhythmically strong and evenly paced.  Some of it is insistent and serious; this pianist really knows how to play and think.  There is some effect I can't reproduce.

Book - The Making of Asian America (2015)

by Erika Lee

Asians helped settle in Latin America.

They may have been in the US as early as 1565.

There were Asian servants to the Spanish.

DVD - Germany (2004)

(Globe Trekker)

The little boys around age 4 are very cute and supple.  They are so happy!

The little girls around age 7 or 8 are cute.  They seemed ready for life to happen.

A sorta intellectual young lady with pale features described the feelings of the museum in Southeastern Germany of WWI and WWII.  They simply are a fair race who others can't refuse, and the others were crushed.  There was no way out of this view, given her good nature as a person in general.

The adult Germans looked darker, thinner, yet more filled with life than Americans can, overall.

Book - So you want to talk about race (2018)

So you want to talk about race (2018)
by Ijeoma Oluo

The author is a black woman.

Race is a life of good music, cooking out, and having your hair braided.

She felt more inhibited as she got older.

Racial oppression in the US is bad.

Supposedly, race would not be a problem.

She is from "the working class suburbs."

"Privilege" is an issue.

"Color" is the issue, problem, definition of racism...

Some black people are overly aggressive.

Supposedly, racism isn't as bad and so we have less talk of it or things to stop it.

Some blacks make a beeline from school to prison.

She feels she can't say the word "nigger."

"Microaggressions."  It can consume you.

Crime against South Asians are ignored.

"Pacific Islanders..." a list of little countries that must be underappreciated.

People try to hurt others saying they are racist, probably destroying the other person's validity.

She wants to do more than talk and mentions college.

Book - Not Quite White (2018)

Race is biological, even in social life.

Before, people from India could not be citizens but could work in factories, the 1940s.

Asians, Spanish, and black people get labeled.

People who are not white and Caucasian are a racial identity and they have a place in the rest of the white world.

(This book is a personal narrative, I think.)

Book - What Are You? (1999)

It has a poem saying we have the right to do whatever we want, to think whatever we want, of ourselves etc.

A girl who is half Scottish from her mom and black and Indian from her dad says she is so fair...  I can identify with that being very Irish but maybe not all that real Irish.

The girl with Jewish looks very good.  She reminds me of me and is part Asian, her dad being Asian.  Her mom is Jewish-American.

It's weird when one race feels pain and others don't, when another race is grouped as white with Europeans.

Someone like me wants to be seen as her mixed race.

Leslie Thibodeaux is from Late Charles, Louisiana, US and is Creole and just looks very white and European and Caucasian like me.  She's white, black, Spanish, and Indian.  Some family doesn't want to be associated with her.  Her mixture being so mixed seems like she has significant white, maybe both sides.  I couldn't find a picture online, but she has a long pointy nose, dark hair, very fair complexion, very sunken in features, and skinny but supple.  She was at the door.  She was a good height, maybe 5'6" or 5'7"?

One has a girl who has a white dad and "Asian-American" mom and he got mad when she had a black person over.  Her entry is titled that she can't talk to her dad.

Someone with a Chinese mom and white dad titles that she wasn't a blonde haired blue eyed cheerleader.  That is funny how people got away with saying brunette Americans are bad when it seems that brunette Europeans have it better and are even coveted.

Nonwhite mixes are very cool...

A half German half Chinese girl is dark.

CD - Bach - Sonatas and Partitas... - Bluegrass - (2012)

Bach: Sonatas and Partitas - Volume 1
Chris Thile
"Bluegrass"
2012

I did not realize this was bluegrass until I got it.  He plays a stringed instrument that you pluck and strum.

Adagio - It sounds like an etude in spirit.
Fugue - It sounds very emotional.

I have to go and return this now, bye!  I want to be early!

This is just like the regular music it sounds as a solo, not an altered jazz composition.
